Election Day at Cannon!

On Tuesday, November 6th, all Cannon scholars will have the opportunity to cast their vote in a mock presidential election!  The scholars will be learning about voting, participating in the democratic process and have already watched a BrainPop.com video about how we pick our leader in the United States.  This is such a fun and exciting time for our scholars, and they are already excited about making their voices heard in our school-wide election.  

I talked to all the 4th graders about how it's important to understand the stances and intentions of the person you're voting for before you make a decision.  Here are a few links, if you'd like, that you and your children use to help them learn more about voting and the candidates for President and Vice President:

As a special way to celebrate this day, we would like everyone to come to school wearing Red, White, and Blue.  We're excited about this day, and we hope the children have fun learning more about our country!

¡El martes, el 6 de noviembre, todos los alumnos de Cannon tendrán la oportunidad de emitir su voto en una elección presidencial simulada!  Los alumnos van a aprender acerca de la votación, la participación en el proceso democrático y ya han visto un vídeo de BrainPop.com sobre cómo recoger nuestro líder en los Estados Unidos.  Este es un momento divertido y emocionante para nuestros alumnos, y ya están emocionados por hacer oír su voz en nuestra escuela en la elección.
